About Siobhan Calderbank
Siobhan Calderbank is a dynamic speaker, an award-winning published author, and an expert in change management and leadership, and a DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) advocate. She is the founder of Butterfly Ladies – a Mentoring Program committed to helping develop the careers of women and youth, especially visible minorities. She has spoken to diverse groups at conferences, events, seminars, and planning sessions to motivate individuals to work more collaboratively.
Siobhan realized early in her career that change doesn’t have to be painful. When leaders don’t consider the impacts of change on employees, it can create reduced morale, decreased productivity, resentment and more resistance to Change. The most successful leaders recognize through simple changes to their approach, they can engage employees to thrive and reach their full potential, thus cultivating an environment in which the organization can succeed. Siobhan then created a unique proprietary 4-step approach to leading change that bridges the generational differences in change and leadership. She has aided teams to develop innovative solutions to achieve their strategic objectives, grow their organization’s market share, improve efficiency, increase profitability and enhance culture through engagement.
Siobhan possesses over 20 years of progressive experience in people management, training and development, customer service, and project management within large, complex corporate environments. Siobhan is a recognized learning leader by the Institute of Performance and Learning. She has contributed her knowledge to many publications and has been on the cover of Women Entrepreneur Magazine (July 2019). Siobhan is a Universal Women’s Network 2019 Women of Inspiration Award recipient for Diversity & Inclusiveness. She is also a UWN Ambassador for Black Women. She was voted Top 10 Finalist for Women Entrepreneur’s 2019 Inspirational Female Entrepreneur and Top 10 Female Entrepreneur to Watch 2021. In addition she has been recognized by Insights Success Magazine as one of “The 10 Most Influential Businesswomen to Follow in 2020” and recognized as one of the Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada 2020 by the Canadian International Black Women Event (CIBWE). She is a Top 100 Accomplished Black Women 2022. In addition, Siobhan has been honoured as the Top Director of the Year in Talent Management for 2021, Empowered Women of the Year 2021, Top 50 Fearless Leaders, Lifetime Achievement Award 2022 and Top Female Visionary of the Year 2023 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership and commitment to her industry.
She is a creative, energetic, results-driven speaker with a well-earned reputation for motivating and inspiring client groups. She has experience speaking for a broad range of clients including groups in government, telecommunications, retail, utilities financial sector and Women. She also has extensive experience coaching Senior Management and Executive level staff and business owner one-on-one, as well as mentoring women professionals.
Siobhan began her career delivering key programs to audiences in large organizations. She then transitioned into a consulting role where she was integral in assisting senior management teams to identify performance gaps, develop key leadership competencies, initiate culture change and improve overall employee engagement. Siobhan’s many years of experience enabled her to fuse together her love of teaching and her passion for change management to become a sought-after speaker that inspires professionals, business leaders and women to improve their performance outcomes.
Siobhan has been praised for her high energy, engaging and effective communication style and award-winning programs. With a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Information Technology Management, Siobhan holds her Change Management Practitioner (CMP) designation from APMG, her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute, her Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation from the Institute for Performance and Learning and is a certified Extended DiSC® facilitator. Siobhan has completed her Master’s degree at Royal Roads University, with a focus on organizational change, leadership development and generational diversity.
