Learn. Live. Lead.

Who Siobhan Has Worked With

Are you looking for a mentor to help build your career? Are you an experienced professional and willing to mentor other women? Butterfly Ladies Mentoring Program is for you.

Butterfly Ladies Mentoring Program

What is the program about? Butterfly Ladies Mentoring program is intended for women who are constantly evolving, changing and leading. The vision of Butterfly Ladies is simple: To empower women to be the best they possibly can through three simple actions– Learn, Live, Lead.

In the last few years I have been approached by several female business professionals, entrepreneurs, moms on behalf of their daughters and young ladies – all seeking mentorship and support to build their leadership skills. Three major challenges were uncovered:

  1. Many women didn’t see themselves being represented in leadership positions (especially visible minorities and women of colour)
  2. Many disadvantaged women didn’t have access or financial resources to attend leadership courses
  3. Young girls (17-24) didn’t have supporters or mentors to guide them through the most critical points of their life – guidance before they attend post secondary institutions, feelings of self doubt during post secondary education, and help finding employment after graduation

LeadHERship Accelerator Series

The butterfly ladies mentor program was created to help women build their careers so that they too, can inspire and impact the lives of other ladies to become better through intentional interactions – the Butterfly Effect. Mentorship and skill development through the LeadHERship Accelerator Series is free for all program participants. This will provide women access to valuable experiences, improve critical skills and shared knowledge.

LeadHERship Accelerator Series includes:

  • Effective Communications
  • Influencing Others with Intention
  • Thinking Strategically to Lead Innovation
  • Purpose, Power and Promotion
  • Branding Yourself
  • Being Resilient – Unleashing the Power Within

“Crown” Scholarship Awards

Siobhan Calderbank and her daughter Eva Brown created the Crown Award (a combination of Calderbank and Brown, “C-rown“). They both believe it is important to help women succeed in their careers, which often starts with an education. Siobhan was a student at TMU (Toronto Metropolitan University previously known as Ryerson University) where she received a bursary for financial assistance and now would like to pay it forward. This award will provide support for an individual that identifies as a female BIPOC student in any year of study across the university, who demonstrates financial need. This commitment for the Award is part of the President’s Awards to Champion Equity (PACE) program. The Crown award was intended to ensure that the deserving student can maintain their dignity by holding their head high with a crown. The recipient will also be able to receive free mentorship and career development skills training.

Siobhan has also created two more Crown Awards at Royal Roads University as part of the Masters in Leadership (MAL) Bursary program that was created to recognized and support MAL students with demonstrated financial need, who have chosen to pursue a path of higher understanding about leadership.  Siobhan was a student at RRU. The award will support two MAL students each year. Preference is given to students who self-identify as belonging to an under-represented group, including but not limited to: Female, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQQIA+, neuro-diverse, persons living with a visible or invisible disability, youth from care, and/or first in family to attend post secondary. Her vision is to remove financial barriers for leadership students to become an inspiration and have a significant impact in the lives of the communities they serve.

The Crown awards are supported by her two sons (Aidan and Josh) and her husband, Chris who are male allies that advocate for and support the advancement of women and other equity deserving groups.
